GUMBOOT DANCE CLASS

Gumboot dance is a highly energetic work out class. This dance was formed as a means of communication by black miners from the South African Gold Mines many years ago and is now celebrated as a traditional dance all over the Southern part of Africa.

The Pierian Centre runs a regular Film Night on the last Sunday of every month. It’s a chance to see provocative films you can’t see elsewhere, and to discuss them with people involved in the making of them or in the issues involved. SING YOUR HEART OUT - CHANTING WITH TIM CHALICE

Chanting quiets the mind and opens the heart. Meditative and ecstatic chants including Sanskrit mantras are set to simple melodies, supported by Mike Ford on tablas. These ancient chants contain a transformative power, taking us deeper into our hearts and the ever-present Silence. No previous experience of singing or chanting necessary.
